De Moord Op Lahaut
Op 18 augustus 1950 wordt de voorzitter van de communistische partij aan de voordeur van zijn woning dood geschoten. Op 27 september verstuurt iemand van de Staatsveiligheid, vermoedelijk Pierre Potargent, een brief naar de Brusselse procureur-generaal Camille Pholien, waarbij een oud-verzetsstrijder uit Halle, ene "Adolphe" in één adem wordt vernoemd met ene André-Pierre Verbrugge, oorspronkelijk uit Gent. Van de man uit Halle is geweten dat hij zich verplaatst met een grijze Vanguard, nieuw model. Van Verbrugge is geweten dat hij een oorlogsspion was, een agent van de Franse en Amerikaanse veiligheidsdiensten, die ooit door de oud-minister van Koloniën, Albert de Vleeschauwer, werd aanbevolen als secretaris van graaf Arnold de Looz-Corswarem in 1935 nog winnaar van de trofee van sportverdienste en tijdens de oorlog vliegenier op Belgisch Kongo. Op 11 augustus 1950 gooit diezelfde De Looz-Corswarem in de voormiddag een stinkbom in het Parlement, in de richting van de socialistische fractie. Dat is de dag dat kroonprins Boudewijn de eed komt afleggen. Tijdens die eedaflegging, in de namiddag, roept een communist naar alle waarschijnlijkheid Georges Glineur "Vive la République". De pers schrijft de republikeinse kreet echter toe aan Julien Lahaut, die één week later wordt vermoord.
